Connected Hydration

A simple way to monitor your own hydration levels is provided by the Connected Hydration platform. The device measures sweat volume and loss of electrolyte concentration and, if necessary, recommends replenishing fluid loss. It consists of a minimalist electronic module and a microfluidic disposable patch, which is simply adhered to the upper arm. Within reach of the smartphone, it displays the fluid and sodium requirements in an app.

Statement by the Jury

The self-explanatory, functional design of the Connected Hydration platform makes the device a practical companion for physically demanding work.
