Lounge Chair
Chair
Corvo
Corvo is a hand-sculpted solid wood chair that fuses modern technology and traditional woodworking techniques. The initial inspiration for the design was the creative potential opened up by the freedom and versatility of composites. It was for this reason the chair was initially designed in carbon fibre and then reinterpreted in wood. The complexity of the various shapes, bevelled edges, curves and transitions made manufacturing using modern CNC equipment impractical, hence the decision was made to produce Corvo by hand. 15 different woodworking tools are needed to fashion the chair from solid American walnut. The final step is to treat and seal the surface with natural oil.
