Flow Cytometry System

CyFlow Cube 6

Flow cytometry is the complex principle of automated analysing and counting up to 100,000 cells per second, e.g. used as standard method in medical diagnostics. The key technology is based on the analysis of fluoresent and scatter signals emitted by specially labeled cells when passing one or more laser beams at high speed. In the late 1960s, the German developer and manufacturer Partec was a pioneer in this field with the ICP 11, the first commercially available device. An impressive new concept for this technology is presented with the design of the CyFlow Cube 6. The cubic design vocabulary of this device immediately fascinates the beholder. It is defined by flowing lines and has a distinctive appearance. The CyFlow Cube 6 is small and compact, and thus easily fits into a laboratory. Thanks to its well-balanced construction and high stability, it can be used also for mobile laboratories, without having to compromise on quality. It allows high precision measurements for a wide variety of applications, such as analysing blood samples for immune status measurements, e.g. for leukaemia, lymphoma, and HIV/AIDS. Since it features a highly organised, easy-to-read interface, it can also be intuitively used by semi-qualified users. The design of the CyFlow Cube 6 lends a measuring system in the field of flow cytometry a new aesthetics – while at the same time enhancing its range of applications.

Statement by the Jury

The design of the CyFlow Cube 6 combines highly precise advanced analysis with a new user concept of a mobile application in an impressively new way. Its minimalist and cubic design vocabulary is both distinctive and elegant, inviting users wanting to touch it. A visionary design sets new standards for the future of laboratory medicine.
