Demag V-type crane

In contrast to cranes that have enclosed box-section girders, the Demag V-type crane features an eco-friendly V-type design. Tapered diaphragm joints reduce the oscillation characteristics by up to 30 per cent and ensure that pressure and tensile forces are evenly distributed. The open V-shape of the profile-section girder cuts the crane’s deadweight by an average of 17 per cent. In addition, less surface area is exposed to the wind and the design allows more light to pass, which makes the crane suitable for both indoor and outdoor operation.

Statement by the Jury

The girder concept, which has been thought through to the smallest detail, makes the crane highly robust and stable. At the same time, it saves resources and extends its service life.
