Drinkware

DOURO

Back Download

The stylistic idiom of these curvaceous sake glasses and bottles was inspired by Japanese Ochoko cups. The elegant drinkware is made of heat-resistant, hand-blown borosilicate glass and this allows the drinks to retain their temperature for longer and without risk of scalding or leaving a messy condensation ring on tables. A hydrophobic silicone vent equalises the air pressure between the two layers of glass. This double-wall design makes it look like the drink is floating in the glass.

Statement by the Jury

The double-wall construction of these drinking vessels endows them with impressive thermal properties and also produces a very distinctive aesthetic.
