Handle and shaft of the Drift Wood are made of the traditional materials wood and brass. The mechanism for opening and closing, on the other hand, is adapted to modern requirements. The handle consists of two identically incorporated notches, allowing the umbrella to be held pleasantly in the hand. Additionally, a cavity is inserted in it where small items can be stored. It serves in particular as a practical storage space for the umbrella sleeve.
