The “elephant in the room” is a metaphor for an obvious problem which has arisen but nobody wants to talk about. An elephant which closely follows the woman, who is the main protagonist in the film, represents the problems women encounter in a patriarchal society which confines their behaviour and thoughts. The film uses various means to make the restrictions tangible in a visual way, for example by using a flat, two-dimensional style of sketches, a very limited colour palette, centred on the grey of the elephant, as well as an intense limitation of space and perspective.
