emoLab

In the rural township of Yuchi, Taiwan, a group of young individuals has returned to revitalise the village with the burger restaurant emoLab. At its centre is a large, raised planter filled with succulents, surrounded by seating and communal areas. The design is characterised by dark-brown plywood and textured exposed concrete, with the restrained use of materials underscoring the space’s rustic simplicity. A skylight, combined with black ceiling elements, creates atmospheric lighting. Graphic elements in black complement the overall design.

With a creative use of simple materials, emoLab transforms a previously unused space into a multifunctional, community-focused venue full of charm.
