Etherena

Etherena is a loader and insertion device for the CopperT 380A contraceptive intrauterine device (IUD). The loading process is entirely aseptic, as the physician’s hand touches only the grip area. The system also assists in accurate fundal placement of the IUD, as it features an integrated uterine depth scale. The form makes it easy to insert since the unit follows the natural curvature of the female body. The device is also safer for the client since the chances of perforation of uterus are lesser.

Statement by the Jury

The ergonomic design of the Etherena ensures easy and comfortable operation of the device using only one hand and also very precise control when pushing the knob for insertion.
