The multifunctional Fanttik F2 Master mini rotary tool kit demonstrates what it takes to become a must-have item. Even its oval-cylindrical storage box characterised by flowing lines and a matt grey aluminium finish looks elegant and upmarket. At first glance, one could be forgiven for thinking the attractive box contains high-end stationery since its dimensions of 21 × 6.2 × 3.5 cm are surprisingly compact, yet it holds everything one could need for drilling, sanding, polishing, engraving and milling small workpieces. A push-to-open mechanism at the top of the tool immediately brings up the narrow, battery-powered handpiece for removal as well as the 35-piece accessory set of attachments, all clearly laid out and ready to use in three superimposed 360-degree carousels. The carousels are magnetised so that each attachment is securely returned to its rightful place after use. Order, intuitiveness and simplicity are clearly central objectives. The pop-up function and magnetic guidance almost make a ritual of using the tool. At 98 grams, the handpiece is exceptionally light in weight, but it is still powerful with a wear-resistant, brushless motor of up to 25,000 rpm while also being extremely quiet at 32 dB in neutral. Five rotary speeds can be selected by pushing a flush-mounted button. Green LED markings display the selected settings. The port for the USB-C charging cable is located at the tip of the handle and it only takes one hour to fully charge the device. Conveniently, this can be done while the tool is in the box. A ring-shaped status indicator provides an update on the process while an LED ring on the front of the lining provides soft lighting for better working conditions.
