Flight Information Display System (FIDS)

Two elements are the focus of the fully revamped Flight Information Display System at Hamad International Airport, Qatar. One is its bilingual layout that displays announcements simultaneously in Arabic and English. This eliminates the tedious switching between two languages. In addition, it serves to underline the growing importance of the Arab world in business and travel. The second element is the uniform display of the airline logos on the panels, facilitating orientation for passengers. Indeed, users will generally recognise a visual logo faster than written data.
