Freedom

In a sinister future, the world is dominated by robots and humans have been transformed into cyborgs, forced by the robots to slave away in underground work camps. When cyborg E28 is reunited with his childhood pet, a little robot dog, he rediscovers his humanity and thus his desire for freedom. But when E28 manages to flee to the planet’s surface, he finds that the world as he once knew it has been destroyed. This film represents a critical examination of scientific and technological developments which increasingly alienate the human species from its own nature. The emphatic message of the film: to protect human nature, we must protect the Earth.
