Fu Lu Shou Xi Notebook

The design of the notebooks was inspired by the traditional Chinese gifts “Fu”, “Lu”, “Shou” and “Xi”, each of which was assigned a symbol. On the finely decorated covers, the hydrangea stands for happiness, “Fu”, for example, the chrysanthemum for prosperity, “Lu”, and the twin lotus flower for joy “Xi”. A special printing technique provides the books with a kind of porcelain texture, and an inlay appearance lends the covers a spatial effect.

Statement by the Jury

The design of these notebooks succeeds in impressively combining the artistic symbolic representation of traditional Chinese attributes with today’s printing techniques.
