Comfortable reading calls for a light source that illuminates the book or other media well without dazzling. The Geen-a floor lamp was specially developed for reading in bed or in a reading chair. It is equipped with continuously dimmable LEDs. Its lighting angle can be flexibly adjusted to the position of the reader thanks to the infinitely variable height adjustment of the lampshade. The upper handle makes it easy to align and transport the lamp, while the heavy base provides stability and ensures that it cannot tip over. The gently curved lampshade picks up on a classical design language, whose aesthetics are counteracted by the straight-lined stem. The visual interplay of the components lends the reading lamp sophistication and conciseness. The 132 cm high floor lamp made of powder-coated steel is available with a matt finish in white, black or brick brown. As a tribute to the designer’s frequently reading mother, the design of this lamp conveys a timeless elegance that blends harmoniously into different interior styles.
Statement by the Jury
The design of this reading lamp breaks with a familiar product perception to surprise with an original construction. The unusual upper handle becomes an eye-catcher and, in combination with the large lampshade and the slender, cylindrical base, creates a highly independent individual appearance. In addition, the high level of user comfort is convincing.
