Pioneering ergonomics

Demolition work requires skill, precision and strength. Therefore, when designing tools that break up asphalt or separate thick concrete slabs, ergonomics, handling and safety in particular have to be taken into account in addition to the complex demands on technology, new technologies and materials. After 10 years, Hilti is launching the TE 3000-AVR, the new edition of its legendary jackhammer, and is thus presenting a tool that succinctly embodies Hilti’s design identity with its high recognition value: the new model is not only visually compact and expressively designed, but also technically and ergonomically innovative. The TE 3000-AVR switches from compressed air to fully electric function mode and at the same time delivers more power with 10 per cent less total weight. For comfortable control in this performance class, Active Vibration Reduction (AVR) is used in the form of two side handles decoupled from the chassis to minimise vibration transmission beyond the tool body. This new mounting approach provides greater health protection for the user, results in longer allowable power-on times and increases daily productivity many times over. The TE DRS-H on-board vacuum system for virtually dust-free chiselling and a trolley for effortless transport round off the Hilti TE 3000-AVR as a tool that is well thought-out down to the last detail – both functionally and aesthetically.

Statement by the Jury

With the new edition of its pneumatic hammer, Hilti presents another innovation in terms of functionality and ergonomics. As a fully electric tool, the TE 3000-AVR only needs electricity and no longer requires a compressor, which results in significantly more comfort and ease of work. It reduces the transmission of vibrations to the body, thus noticeably relieving the user and at the same time increasing productivity, and overall represents a successful combination of design, function and user benefit.
