The Hodei Silent Runners are exemplary for a circular economy between manufacturer and customer. At the end of their life, the extraordinary shoes are taken back by the manufacturer and deconstructed into their individual parts, which are then used to make new shoes. The idea behind this is to move from a product-centric to a material-centric approach through upcycling. Accordingly, the shoes made of only one material, durable EVA foam, are produced exclusively to order.
Statement by the Jury
Through consistent upcycling, the well-thought-out production of the Hodei Silent Runner largely avoids the disposal of valuable resources.
