“Howl” is a short film of how a troubled man’s fantasy leads him into the dark world. In a kind of vision, the man imagines himself killing a passer-by with a hammer. The open-ended story leaves it up to the audience to guess whether this violent fantasy will come true. Clearly designed to enhance the thrill, the sound concept combines everyday sounds with electronic timbres. The overall uncanny atmosphere of the film is translated into sound, while the dynamics of foley help the audience to focus on each action.
