Virtual Reality Installation
Hyper Fountain
The Hyper Fountain is an immersive virtual reality installation uniting an HTC Vive with Leap Motion hand tracking. At the centre was the question of whether virtual experiences can recondition perception. Visitors were invited to stand at an ordinary plastic bucket and “wash” their hands in a thin water stream coming from a simple transparent hose. However, what they saw and felt in VR were distinct, creatively interpreted metaphors of water (e.g. glass fragments, rose petals or lava) that played with deeply rooted emotions in the human subconscious.
