Sustaining everyday kitchen life

A sustainable approach to resources clearly reflects in the use of durable products. This is no different when it comes to cooking. For example, a high-quality kitchen knife can accompany its user for decades if it is sharpened regularly. With this in mind, the KLENG Chef’s Knife in combination with a self-sharpening knife block offers the best conditions for a long product life. Without any additional effort on the part of the user, the steel blade is re-sharpened every time it is pulled out of the knife block. A diamond-like carbon coating inspired by space technology reduces cutting friction and improves the scratch resistance as well as acid and alkali resistance of the blade. Both the knife handle and the knife block are made of renewable, fast-growing bamboo. Due to the high density of the bamboo fibres, the surface feels pleasantly supple. The kitchen knife, handmade in Germany, is available with either a black diamond-coated blade and dark brown handle or a matt silver blade and light brown bamboo handle, with the logo on the blade prominently highlighted. The knife with its gently curved edge follows a minimal design language. In the set with the colour-matching knife block, it is visually and haptically highly appealing.

In particular, the sharpening mechanism discreetly integrated into the knife block ensures lasting ease and comfort, which motivates decades of use.
