LG InstaView Door-in-Door Refrigerator (Next-8)

The striking feature of the InstaView refrigerator is its door: with a “KnockOn” gesture its window in the right upper side becomes transparent, revealing the so-called “Magic Space” behind. The user can thus locate the desired food before opening the door and thereby reduce the cooling loss by up to 47 percent. This especially simplifies access to the foods or drinks that are used most frequently. With another “KnockOn” gesture the door will turn opaque again.

Statement by the Jury

From a functional viewpoint and with regard to energy saving, the door of the InstaView offers real added value and is at the same time a distinctive design element. The interaction of the user with the appliance is also convincing.
