The jury was decidedly impressed by the “extremely reduced design of the MCIC glasses and their clever, minimalistic construction, which dispenses with all ‘superfluous’, common components”. The frame weighs a mere 1.8 grams and consists of a single piece of hypoallergenic titanium. The lenses are hung using flexible straps and fastened with loops over the frame. As a result, no holes need to be drilled in the lenses or the frame, and no screws are required. Moreover, the particularly lightweight and patent-pending spectacle frame ensures full peripheral vision.
