Millet Malahok

The idea to use these wooden gift boxes in order to market millet products as souvenirs is based on the fact that millet is a staple food for the indigenous tribes in Taiwan. Featuring woven handles and fine, hand-embroidered motifs on the banderols, the packaging relates to the craftsmanship of the indigenous peoples. The wooden material also defines the overall natural, hand-made character of the packaging. The packaging design thus draws attention to the Taiwanese aborigines and appreciates a culture which has been kept alive for thousands of years.
