Mirror House

Back Download

The Mirror House in Copenhagen’s Central Park was designed as an inviting pavilion. The distorting mirrors on the sides and ends of the building, as well as on the inside of the doors, invite to play with perspective, reflection and transformation. They simultaneously create a link between the building and its surroundings. The pavilion serves as a flexible play area and, amongst others, is equipped with toilets and cooking facilities.

Statement by the Jury

The unusual idea of using distorting mirrors as an architectural component combines ingenious design with childlike playfulness and turns the building into an interactive game.
