Tangible sensuality

The new Twin Marker was created after three years of interdisciplinary development by the two companies Schneider and Feuerstein (MOLOTOW™). The innovation of this writing and drawing instrument, which is made of 95 per cent recycled plastic, is that the cartridges are exchangeable. This functionality was achieved via a cartridge exchange system with a robust and audible snap-in click when the cap is closed. The range includes up to 120 shades and up to three different tip shapes. This means that up to 56 per cent plastic can be avoided by simply replacing the cartridge instead of buying a complete marker. The pen’s high-quality AquaPro ink delivers rich, deep colour brilliance and offers good UV resistance. It also dries just as quickly as alcohol-based inks and there is almost no ink run or bleeding when colouring on thin paper. The design concept of these pens realises the idea that users should feel comfortable and at ease with the product as soon as they pick it up. At the same time, it wants to fade into the background of the creative process so that users can concentrate fully on their work. The pens appeal to the senses and have a triangular barrel that adapts to the user’s natural pen-holding position. Moreover, they also feature an eroded surface that is pleasant to the touch and lends them a high-quality appearance.

Statement by the Jury

This writing and drawing instrument impresses with its coherent and sustainable system of replaceable cartridges. The functionally sophisticated design gives this type of pen a new quality. They can be used flexibly, have a good grip and lie comfortably in the hand. Another remarkable feature is the shape of the packaging box, which visually reflects the triangular shape of the pens.
