Tea Set

NESUTO

Back Download

The term NESUTO in Japanese translates as nest. The rounded contours of this tea set are intended to remind users of a nest that provides warmth and safety. This harmonious design vocabulary links all the plates, bowls and cups. Stone-like glazes that are velvety to the touch decorate the set. To accentuate the desired association with Japan, the greenish glaze bears the name of a form of garden art, Bonsai, and the bluish glaze was given the name of the highest mountain in Japan, Fuji.

Statement by the Jury

Inspired by Japanese aesthetics, this tea set delights with its balanced stylistic idiom as well as its visually and haptically attractive ceramics.
