Orbi: Menstrual Well-being Assistant

Orbi is a menstrual assistant system that combines an app and hygiene containers to help women manage their menstrual cycle in a sustainable way. It provides them with a personalised menstrual schedule, which will help them reduce waste (from the overuse of disposable menstrual products) and mitigate health risks (from the underuse of disposable menstrual products). Bluetooth detects the use of menstrual supplies when the user opens a container and prompts the user to record the usage in the app. This allows Orbi to take user patterns into account when creating their personal menstrual schedule. Orbi, which is completely customisable, requires the user to record usage rates for the first three cycles before generating a scientific schedule based on that information. This is then presented as a visual graph. Furthermore, Orbi notifies the user when abnormalities or unusual blood levels are detected, making it easier to communicate issues with one’s gynaecologist.
