The interior design of this paediatric hospital took a holistic approach which has resulted in an attractive aesthetic environment that supports the patients’ healing process and at the same time reduces stress levels for employees. The concept appeals to small children, teenagers and adults alike. Children’s drawings have, for instance, been magnified, transferred to film and attached to the walls, complemented by wooden elements. These design effects are repeated on the floor in the form of inlays. The recurring theme is a circle in different variations.

The expressive interior design of the Paediatric Hospital Augsburg is very compelling because of its child-friendly imagery that appeals to both young and old.
