Power Mac G5
Powered by either single or dual PowerPC G5 processors, the Power Mac G5 provides 64-bit processing power, a very high bandwidth architecture and up to 8 GB of main memory. An easy-to-open side panel offers quick access to three PCI-X slots and other internal components. An advanced airflow system with four separate thermal zones and individual fans easily prevents overheating; it is three times quieter than that of the Power Mac G4. Frequently used ports are front-mounted. Rear I/O include Gigabit Ethernet, FireWire 400 and 800, USB 2.0 as well as an optical-digital and analog audio I/O for connecting to a 5.1 surround sound speaker system. The sliding door covering the optical drive (DVD-R/CD-RW) enhances the overall clean and elegant appearance of the computer. The aluminium enclosure is rounded off smoothly and the built-in handles offer easy transport.
