Modern art was the source of inspiration for the interior design of this private apartment which stands out for its strong colour palette and clear, visual equilibrium. The colourful, exuberant and repeatedly surprising design breaks with the concept of a traditional home. Instead, it focuses on the owner’s love of art and design and references characteristic features of famous modern artworks. The striped design on the ceiling, for instance, is a reverence for the artist Paul Smith.

Statement by the Jury

Project No. 205 is a homage to art and design. The colourful interior design is appealing for its expressionist and emotional look.
