Pulli Bin was created to make trash removal effortless. By studying how people of all abilities interact with traditional trash cans, the Pulli team uncovered a fundamental flaw: lifting full trash bags creates strain and often leads to tearing. Pulli Bin reimagines this experience with dual front-opening doors that open outwards, eliminating the need for upward lifting and setting a new standard for ease and usability.
Guided by ergonomic principles and innovative engineering, Pulli Bin aligns with intuitive user behaviour while reducing biomechanical strain to ensure universal ease. Breaking away from conventional top-removal trash cans required a complete rethinking of architecture and subsystems, while the trapezoidal geometry fuses practicality, physics, and distinctive style.
Developed over three years with extensive user testing, the design evolved through multiple iterations to validate its benefits and refine key features, such as a lift-tab for users with limited mobility. Early prototypes focused on perfecting the front-opening mechanism, while later testing optimised materials, components, and dimensions to ensure compatibility with diverse trash bags and household settings.
The result is a reimagined household essential: an intuitive, inclusive, and enduring solution to an everyday problem.
