The r7.7 was developed with sustainability at the fore. To achieve a carbon-neutral design, the traditional architecture of a remote control needed to be rethought. The number of components and materials was reduced, and no coating, paint or silicone was used. The organic plastic material is safe and easy to recycle, while maintaining the haptic of a premium product.

Statement by the Jury

The r7.7 remote control takes the issue of sustainability to a new level. It demonstrates that it is quite possible to reduce the number of components while enhancing design quality.
