RE:BORN – Unbuilt Dreams of Architects
The Space of Design and Architecture (SoDA) in Hwaseong, Korea, was an abandoned traditional Korean bathhouse that was remodelled into a contemporary art museum in an economically and culturally deserted area. The “RE:BORN” exhibition at SoDA takes a humorous approach to demonstrating how unused architectural designs can be reused and relived through a redesigning cycle called “ReD”. The exhibition is meant to look like a fashion-brand flagship store that presents 74 “unbuilt” yet architecturally meaningful designs. Similar to the familiar form of a “fashion store”, the entries are printed on fabric and displayed as glowing triangular prisms with dry-cleaning hangers and S, M, L, XL tags.
