The R1 swimming goggles take advantage of the new Rapidsight technology expanding athletes’ forward field of vision while in the head-down swimming position and ensuring certain targets can be sighted without the frame or mechanics obscuring vision. To achieve this, the architecture along the top frame was reduced and a retroscopic angle positioned for the forward view was created, opening the field of view in the forward movement plane while the athlete is in the optimal, head-down swim position.

Statement by the Jury

The expansion of the field of view under water is a great advantage – for swimmers of all levels. Thus, the design of the R1 achieves a true innovation in this segment.
