Sound Camera

SeeSV-S205

Back Download

The SeeSV-S205 handheld sound camera records sound impressions in real time. A high-resolution optical camera is then used to display the sound waves as colour contours on a computer screen. The device is used, for instance, in the development or repair of vehicles to spot the source of various kinds of noise. The pentagonal form of the body harmonises with the five spiral arrays of high-sensitivity digital microphones. The camera weighs only 1.78 kg, is 39 cm wide and 38 cm high. Its central handle at the back facilitates one-handed operation, while the side handles provide a stable stand.

Statement by the Jury

The exciting aesthetics of this sound camera result from its pentagonal shape and the pattern of concentric circles visualising the sound waves.
