Shiraat

This door handle, named “Shiraat”, is the result of a search for the “anatomy of the minimal”. In other words, its design aims to leave out anything superfluous and unnecessary in order to get to the essence of the form. Yet, this purest form was also meant to be an ornament on the door. After excursions into the art of Japanese minimalism, the Sahara, the Bedouins and the vastness of the desert, the result is a very slim, no-frills and simple cylindrical handle of stainless steel.

Statement by the Jury

The design concept that informed the Shiraat door fitting led to a strictly purist design. The stainless-steel finish also meets a high standard.
