The new Smart Keyboard for the iPad Pro offers the functionality of a full-size keyboard, implementing unconventional technology in the process. The entire keyboard is draped with a special fabric that has been laser-ablated to precisely define each key and to offer a natural feel. Below the woven surface is a 0.1-mm-thin conductive material transmitting finger pressure to the keys of the iPad. For this reason, the Smart Keyboard does not need an external power supply like batteries or a cable connection.
