The first task in the process of creating a tranquil and relaxing space is to ensure the symmetry of furnishings. The soroe collection achieves this in a very flexible way; it uses stringent axes and consistent geometric shapes to create visual coherence in the bathroom. This purist design concept is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also extremely well thought out, especially in the details. The base element for all items is a cylinder with a flat surface or “face” sliced down one side. This design feature makes it possible to place the soap dispensers, for example, seamlessly side by side. The mounting system, the towel hanger and the fittings feature the same combination of round and angular shapes, which contributes to the overall uniformity. Flat faces are easier to grip and pleasant to touch, especially in rooms where hands are often wet. They are also the key to ease of installation, because the flat face makes it easier to combine individual parts and to attach add-ons. “The series embodies a very straightforward and intelligent design in the form of one system with countless variations. All of the items in the collection share the element of a sliced off ‘face’, which provides a fascinating sense of graphic unity,” commented the judges, who also very much liked the smooth surface finish. It is obvious that soroe was designed with excellent spatial awareness, and the focus on the horizontal and the vertical is reflected in all elements. At the same time, the system’s understated appearance is a concession to modern life, in which the boundaries between living spaces are merging. The design team focused on ensuring that individual elements of the collection could also be harmoniously integrated into spaces outside the bathroom. Thanks to their modularity, many of the products in the collection can be used to upgrade rooms in a functional and space-saving way, whether as a hallway shelf or a bedroom mirror. With its understated elegance, soroe is an aesthetic universal system that is convincing in every respect.
