The STORAC battery storage system increases the proportion of self-consumption of self-produced green electricity from the photovoltaic system and reduces dependence on the electricity supplier. “It is characterised by a monolithic design with a small footprint and a functional form so that it can be easily placed anywhere,” was the jury’s opinion. Vanadium is used as the energy carrier medium – a readily available raw material that is ecologically harmless. Vanadium also has the advantage that it does not degrade as an electrolyte. Since the electrolyte liquid consists of two-thirds water and is neither flammable nor explosive, the battery storage system also offers a high level of safety.
