Structural Color Inkjet Technology is Fujifilm's latest development in non-pigment-based inkjet inks. The innovative process adds micro-structures to the non-pigment-based inks in a purely physical way, changing the refraction of light to create a stunning new colour experience. “This development greatly expands the range of CMYK colours that can be reproduced and enables new design solutions,” said the impressed jury. Inspired by nature, where a surface produces iridescent colours through the refraction of light, this effect is now available to the printing industry.
