The Taiwan Lantern Festival 2020 was held in Taichung, Taiwan, during the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. Focusing on environmental sustainability, the curator team wanted to go beyond conventional practices. Initiated from an architectural perspective and artistic form, the installations used natural materials that were recyclable after the exhibition was over and therefore friendly for the communities and the environment. A cross-functional team, including architects, craftspeople and artists, created a new landscape echoing humanity and nature. It is a reflection and conversation for a post-pandemic lifestyle that is sustainable and holistic, but also focused on peace and harmony.
