The Bradley: A Tactile Timepiece

The Bradley was designed so that people with visual impairment can also use it. The time can be told by touching two ball bearings: one gives the minutes, the other the hours. The movement of the ball bearings on the watch face is controlled by magnets. A gentle shaking of the wrist will restore the ball bearings to the position corresponding to the correct time.

Statement by the Jury

The innovative concept behind this wristwatch allows people with visual impairment to tell the time by touch. It also gives the watch an unmistakable appearance.
