Time Melts Away
The concept of “Time Melts Away” focuses on reinterpreting the meaning and dynamics of discarded things (cast-offs). It aims to establish a link between old and new, waste and preciousness, as well as between emotion and memories. This is achieved by using recycled cast-offs as a medium for recalling people’s sensation for daily life, creating the chance to perceive their purest aesthetic value. The design aims to reinterpret the ordinary cast-offs; the angled steel was less appreciated until it was given a special position in the space. The materials applied in this case were all reinterpreted in terms of function and displayed traces of time, sun and rain.
