The chemical element titanium was named after the Titans of Greek mythology because it possesses extraordinary physical properties: it is very light, yet exceptionally strong and highly durable. The design of the Volt spectacles is based on the special properties of this material and uses them in the creation of a titanium hinge that is both highly functional and expressive at the same time, giving the Volt spectacles their clear and elegant appeal. This titanium hinge is at the heart of the overall design concept for the entire collection of these spectacles: all individual models with their different front designs are connected via this hinge as their style-defining element. The design of the titanium hinge is complemented in a highly symbiotic manner in all Volt models by the distinctive front shapes of the acetate-based frames. With their eye-catching concave contour, these frames possess a well-balanced and harmonious appearance. The holistic design approach followed in this collection is further underlined by the fact that these frames are made from acetate panels specifically produced for these spectacles. The result is a highly consistent collection of spectacles with a distinctive language of form, which nonetheless achieves a high degree of authenticity for each individual model.
