The book “Wagner, Wahnsinn & Walküren” (Wagner, Weirdness & Valkyries) gives a tongue-in-cheek insight into the complex and extraordinary legend of the Ring of the Nibelung. In addition to short, quite unscientific psychograms, the book outlines the family connections of the main protagonists. The illustrations of graphic artist Florian Althans accompany this famous saga in an abstract, aesthetic form. His ”cyclopes”, designed in contrasting colours, interpret the characters in a humorous way and with graphic minimalism. In this way, the illustrations transform the historical story into a modern fairytale.
