Winds of September

Back Download

The Wind of September is the name given to the northeast monsoon in Hsinchu, Taiwan. This fierce wind is used in the production of rice noodles, dried persimmons and mullet roe – they are exposed to the wind for drying during the production process. The design of their packaging communicates this inseparable relationship. It reflects the local environment and interprets the manufacturing process through elements such as nets and by visualising manual activities. The boxes are designed in black and white, the outer packaging is made of coloured paper, with each product assigned its own colour.
