Motorcycles by Yamaha look back on a tradition that lasted until the 1950s. Based on the successful MT-09 platform, the XSR900 has emerged as a motorcycle with an impressively new design idiom. Its innovative design blends the history of Yamaha racing bikes with highly advanced technology, complemented by the integration of retro elements of classic appeal such as the headlights and taillights. Following a refined concept, it manages to emphasise both the beauty of the materials and the quality of this motorcycle. This is also revealed in carefully implemented details such as the hand-buffed aluminium fuel tank cover, the handsewn cover of the double-seat bench and the refined design of the nuts and bolts. The XSR900 features a newly developed aluminium frame that is marked by an elegant styling. This very light frame, together with a natural sitting position, delivers remarkable agility and an intense driving experience. The motorcycle is equipped with a three-cylinder in-line engine with 850 cc and a crossplane crankshaft. This provides a powerful torque as well as very good acceleration – in harmony with a design that perfectly manages to link tradition with the present.
