The confectionery shop YUTUZU wagashi shares its retail space with a café in a restored Japanese building. The materials and the interior design elements give it a contemporary appearance on the one hand, but also preserve the historical charm on the other. This is reflected, for example, in the torii-like porch made of FRP. Thanks to the special processing, light and shadow are alternately reflected to maintain a natural lighting mood.
Statement by the Jury
The sensitive conception of the confectionery shop YUTUZU wagashi impressively harmonises contemporary interior design with existing historic structures.
