Zaans Medical Center
Intended to be friendly and accessible, the architecture of the Zaans Medical Center is focused on a human scale to help reduce stress experienced in the hospital. Realised through integrated plans to enrich the experience of the spatial environment, the architecture provides positive distraction for guests and enhances the building as a whole. Therefore, on an area of 3,500 sqm, hand-drawn illustrations are integrated into the architecture. Scattered around the hospital walls, glass facades, light boxes and lifts, they tell a story and offer a pleasant diversion. The design also includes a complete wayfinding system.
