Designers celebrate at the Award Ceremony in Singapore

Design concepts being awarded the Red Dot is akin to obtaining a quality seal for design that sets them apart from the rest in the field. Only the best 7% of submitted entries by companies, design studios, research institutions and designers were being recognised for their design merit by the Red Dot Jury this year.

“Red Dot Award for Design Concept is one of the toughest design awards that one can win in the world today.” Asia President of Red Dot, Mr. Ken Koo reveals . “The challenge is not just in the odds of winning, but also in the high quality of the competing design projects that are assessed on a fair platform.”

Creating the future: a better future

“To think innovatively and remain forward-looking in persistent times — to still be in motion — is truly a special skill. Taking the best of today to make the best out of tomorrow is the real magic behind creating a design concept with added value.” explains Professor Dr. Peter Zec, founder and CEO of Red Dot. “In the Red Dot Award: Design Concept, we are looking for design concepts that aim to shape a better tomorrow. We are looking for inventive designers, clever ideas and extraordinary solutions to create something new — something extraordinary.”

Today, it has matured into the largest and most prestigious international award for design concepts at a professional level.
