Prototype/model of concept for competition
Prototypes/models for the competition will only be received between 15 to 30 April.

Please ensure that product deliveries are handled in accordance with the customs requirements for the free trade of goods (Delivered Duty Paid). If you decide for a temporary import, it is essential that you use a freight forwarder, i.e. do not use a courier, express packet service, etc. More details can be obtained from your nearest customs office.
Prototype/model of concept for exhibition
Prototypes or mock-ups of winning works will be displayed in the Red Dot Design Museum Singapore for the duration of the exhibition.
Participants who choose to display their prototype or mock-up bears all the costs and risks related to storage and/or return delivery.
Delivery dates: 22 July to 2 August 2024
Return shipping of prototypes/mock-ups
If you have elected for the return shipping of your prototype/mock-up, Red Dot will proceed to make preparations for shipping from August.
If your concept has been selected for an award and had already sent us your prototype/mock-up for judging, please complete the Winner Services Order form to inform us if you want the prototype displayed at the Red Dot Design Museum for exhibition.
Afterwhich, the following will take place:
- For prototypes/mock-up to be exhibited and returned, return shipping procedures will begin after the exhibition has concluded.
- For prototypes/mock-up that are not exhibited and returned, return shipping procedures will begin from 2 September.
The participant concerned bears all costs and risks related to storage and/or return delivery.

+ Fee in Euro is based on currency exchange taken on 29 November 2023, the fee in Euro is for reference only. All fees are charged in Singapore Dollar (SGD).
Prototypes and Models (optional)
Small Size Prototype:
The prototype has the volume of 1000cm3 and weighs less than 1kg. An example of a small sized product is a mobile phone. The administration fee is SGD150. The fee does not include shipping the prototype or mock-up to and from the judging location.
Medium Size Prototype:
The prototype has the volume of 8000cm3 and weighs between 1kg and 5kg. An example of a medium sized product is a laptop. The administration fee is SGD250. The fee does not include shipping the prototype or mock-up to and from the judging location.
Large Size Prototype:
The prototype has the volume of 64000cm3 and weighs between 5kg and 15kg. An example of a large sized product is a microwave oven. The administration fee is SGD500. The fee does not include shipping the prototype or mock-up to and from the judging location.
Extra Large Size Prototype:
The prototype has the volume of 512000cm3 and weighs between 15kg and 50kg. An example of a extra-large sized product is a television. The administration fee is SGD1000. The fee does not include shipping the prototype or mock-up to and from the judging location.
Damage to Prototype:
Due to the fragility and one-off nature of prototypes and models, Red Dot will not be responsible for the damage of the prototype/model during judging, storage, and/or exhibition.
Costs in the event of your project winning an award
If your project receives a distinction, you will benefit from the Winner Package. Booking the Winner Package is obligatory for all winners that receive a distinction.
Winner Package for the Red Dot: Best of the Best distinction at SGD 6,000 (EUR 4,100)
The Red Dot: Best of the Best is awarded for innovative design granted only to the best design concepts in a category.
The package includes the following services:
- Use of the Red Dot Winner Label for the entire life cycle of your design concept
- The Red Dot Trophy
- Two A3-format copies of the Red Dot certificate
- “Deluxe” presentation of the product on a double-page spread in the Red Dot Design Yearbook 2024/2025 (the Deluxe presentation can be expanded to 2 double-page spreads on request)
- One-page designer profile in the Red Dot Design Yearbook 2024/2025 with a short interview.
- Publication of the award-winning design concept with images and text in the online exhibition at www.red-dot.org
- Presentation of the award-winning design concept for one year in the Red Dot Design Museum Singapore
- Free registration of 1 product at the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2025.
Cost at SGD6,000
Winner Package for the Red Dot distinction at SGD 4,000 (EUR 2,733)
The Red Dot is the distinction for high design quality.
The package includes the following services:
- Use of the Red Dot Winner Label for the entire life cycle of the award-winning design concept
- Two A4-format copies of the Red Dot certificate
- Presentation of the award-winning product on at least half of a page in the Red Dot Design Yearbook 2024/2025 (the basic presentation can be expanded to a whole page or a double-page spread on request)
- Publication of the award-winning design concept with images and text in the online exhibition at www.red-dot.org
- Presentation of the award-winning design concept for one year in the Red Dot Design Museum Singapore
- Free registration of 1 product at the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2025.

30% Discount for Next Gen Award Participants
Young professionals and design students under the age of 30 years old before the start of the competition year, are invited to enter their design projects into the Red Dot: Next Gen Award. Participants in the Red Dot: Next Gen Award receive a 30% discount off the submission fee and the Winner Package.
